All Sports API
The Highlightly All Sports API reaches every sport we cover through
a single base URL and a single key. The sport is the first segment
of the path, so
/football/matches and /cricket/matches are
the same endpoint shape against different sports, each with that
sport's parameters and response.
- Base URL
- sports.highlightly.net
- Sports

- Format
- JSON only
- Version
- 6.14.3
Where each sport is documented
An endpoint reached through this base URL is the same endpoint as the one in the sport's own product. Same parameters, response and refresh interval. Only the route differs, so the sport's own documentation sets out the payload.
What each page covers
| Page | Answers |
|---|---|
| Authentication | Which key and which host header to send on each platform. |
| Pagination and limits | The envelope, and which endpoints page on which sports. |
| Errors | Error bodies, status codes and running out of quota. |
| Sports and path prefixes | The prefix for each sport, and which product documents it. |
| Endpoint coverage | Which endpoints each sport has. |
| Parameter conventions | Why the same filter is named differently between sports. |
What a request looks like
{sport} is one of eleven values. Take the one for your
sport from
sports and path prefixes
and send it exactly as written.
curl --request GET \
--url 'https://sports.highlightly.net/football/matches?date=2023-08-06' \
--header 'x-rapidapi-key: YOUR_API_KEY'
const response = await fetch('https://sports.highlightly.net/football/matches?date=2023-08-06', {
headers: {
'x-rapidapi-key': process.env.HIGHLIGHTLY_API_KEY
}
})
if (!response.ok) {
throw new Error(`Highlightly responded ${response.status}`)
}
const data = await response.json()
import os
import requests
response = requests.get(
'https://sports.highlightly.net/football/matches?date=2023-08-06',
headers={
'x-rapidapi-key': os.environ['HIGHLIGHTLY_API_KEY'],
},
timeout=10,
)
response.raise_for_status()
data = response.json()
Endpoint coverage
Not every sport carries every endpoint. Which ones a sport has is listed in endpoint coverage.
